Richard M. Scrushy

CEO of HealthSouth 1984-2002, 2003 and Chairman of the Board. One of the founders of HealthSouth.

Acquitted, in June 2005, of 46 counts of fraud, conspiracy, mail and wire violations. (Judge Karon Bowdre). There is a pending and ongoing SEC complaint against him in Birmingham. Named as a co-defendant in 7 counts of indictment against Siegelman. The counts include bribery and mail fraud. Found guilty of all six counts against him.

Don Siegelman

Governor of Alabama (democrat) 1999-2003.
He was Alabama attorney general 1987-90 and Lieutenant Governor 1995-99.

Indicted for 34 counts, including racketeering, extortion, mail fraud, wire fraud, obstruction of justice, and bribery. He was previously indicted in a case, with Hamrick and Philip Bobo, that was thrown out "with prejudice." Found guilty of six bribery related counts and 1 count of obstruction of justice.
