As all the world who is interested in this situation probably knows by now, Scrushy and Siegelman guilty of all charges the two of them faced. Siegelman was found not-guilty of the RICO and all of the other charges. The danger was always that the defense would be unable to adequately explain the difference and [...] Little commentary on the swirling maelstrom is needed or would be effective right now, and being removed from the scene could make us feel to be a million miles away or so. But they’re seriously messed up. Both sides seem to agree that the jury appears to be 9-3 for acquittal, with the three hold-outs dug [...] It’s déjà vu all over again. I keep looking at this case through the prism of Scrushy’s trial, in Birmingham. And although I would like to look forward to the new revelations that will come out of this trial, it is hard to break away from Birmingham when there seems to be an eerie similarity [...] |
