Deliberations are starting over from the beginning. There was a flurry of activity this morning, with Judge Bowdre first meeting with all of the attorneys and then one representative from each side. Speculation was running high as the doors were opened to the press and public. Guesses and rumors were everything from removing up to two jurors or declaring a mistrial. After a long delay (like old times) she announced that a juror had been replaced for health reasons, and that the jury would have to start deliberations over with one of the alternates added to make up the twelve. The sick juror was an older white male who was replaced by a younger black male. This makes the racial demographics 7-5. |
